The Earth is 71% water. We are 60% water. Of the 71% of the Earth's supply, only 3% is fresh. What an incredible resource!

Artists share their relationship with water in its various forms in this exhibition. Join us to see the interpretations of water, its uses, its power, and its ability to make life possible. As well as a vehicle to make thought provoking art!

Over 400 Artists and Guest Artists on Four Floors of this historic, century old warehouse will be sharing their art and processes with you. Northrup King Building at Art-A-Whirl® will feature food trucks, live art demonstrations and artist talks, interactive activities for the family, and more!

Presented by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), Art-A-Whirl® is an incredible three day experience in the NE Minneapolis Arts District. Over the last 29 years, it has become the largest open studio tour in the country. Art-A-Whirl® takes place annually throughout Northeast Minneapolis, the third weekend of May.

May 17 . Friday . 5pm - 10pm
May 18 . Saturday . Noon - 8pm
May 19 . Sunday . Noon - 5pm

Is there free parking?

Yes! There is a large parking lot at the NKB. We also encourage using the NEMAA trolley, Free Metro Transit passes, ridesharing, biking, walking, strolling, gamboling, and other means to arrive too!

We ask you leave your canine, feline, porcine, and avian friends at home.

Are there passenger elevators?
Yes! The Northrup King Building has a great passenger elevator located near Dock 7. This area also has an accessible ramp with access to the elevator.

Will there be food?
Yes, there will be food trucks each of the three days of Art-A-Whirl® and the fantastic P.F. Cafe!
